Print Advertorials

Print Advertorials are newspaper columns that can be purchased from suppliers. You buy advertising space in the local paper and run the column as a public service, attaching your name to it. It is definitely a tactic worth analyzing if you in the professional service business.

The biggest disadvantage is that the paper will want to label it as an advertisement. This defeats the purpose of the column format. The second disadvantage is that these columns are typically generic and educational in content. They don't do anything to set you off from your competition. All of your marketing efforts must convey the benefits of selecting you as their provider. For these reasons I don't recommend the use of these products.

If you like the format of these products write your own column that promotes you in an individualized way.

 

 

Just The Facts
Think like a reporter and find the news angles in your business, and then deliver that news to the group or groups that would have the most interest in it. The more you can focus on delivering relevant and timely information to people, the more those people will pay attention to you--and then pay you for your services.
